“Plans for the Test Match are moving steadily forward,” Minister Paul ‘Chet’ Greene said last night. The Minister of Sports is happy that the “instalment of seats” met with the deadline on Tuesday, and says it is a “good national sight.” As one would recall, the colour coding in blue and yellow of the seats at the Sir Viv Richards stadium left much to be desired and, did not relay the symbolism that this was a national treasure. Many persons in the country recognised that the seating colouration was more political spectacle than national identification. For his part, Minister ‘Chet’ Greene pointed out that “the design of the seats in the national flag,” is now symbolic of national pride and excellence. The Minister has called for all Antigua and Barbuda to “come out to the stadium” today and the remainder of the week to view yet another “national symbol” of excellence achieved under a caring and purposeful government being ably led by Prime Minister the Honourable Gaston Browne.
