Jamaican woman nabbed at VC Bird

Reports reaching Caribbean Times indicate that yesterday evening, between 5.45 and 6.45, a young woman – Vickesha Deborah Legore of Jamaica –  arriving on Caribbean Airline Flight 459 into Antigua’s V.C. Bird International Airport from Kingston (Jamaica), was arrested after acting suspiciously and spotted by the vigilant Narcotics Officers working at the terminal. Based on certain techniques peculiar to the officers, the woman was immediately processed as a suspect.

Legore was later found with more than 6 pounds of cannabis concealed in a false compartment in her suitcase. The Jamaican woman, 24 years of age, was arrested and taken to Police Headquarters for further investigation. She has been charged on three offences, namely: Possession of the cannabis; importation of the illicit substance; and possession with intent to supply. The cannabis is said to have an estimated street value of $25,000. Legore is likely to face the court today.
